About Us

Ellie Giffin, President

Hello my name is Ellie Giffin and my husband Tracy and I are kinship grandparents for our grandson Karu. Professionally I am a Resident Services Coordinator, essentially a social worker and case manager, for 130 seniors in the Treasure Valley area. My previous work paths have including being a support broker for children with special needs for Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, civil court clerk for Ada County, PAVE advocate assisting families navigate IEPs/504 plans for children receiving special education services in schools and a CASA in Washington state working solely with children with tribal connections and medical limitations. We have 3 adult sons, 2 granddaughters in addition to our grandson and we have a mini/hobby farm. You will often find us at local rodeos, or race car tracks and at area support events.

Amanda Farley, Vise President

Amanda is a devoted mother of eight whose heart for children and families shines through every part of her life. As a kinship, adoptive, and foster mom, Amanda is deeply committed to creating safe, nurturing spaces where children can thrive. Her passion for advocacy extends beyond her own home—she actively supports and uplifts other foster and kinship families in her community.

Known for her creativity and willingness to lend a hand, Amanda brings her talents to every area she serves. She volunteers regularly at local schools, the Special Olympics, and the community food bank, and she plays an active role in children’s programs at her church. A proud and involved sports mom, Amanda is often found cheering on the sidelines with enthusiasm and encouragement.

In addition to her volunteer work, Amanda is in the process of opening her own daycare, continuing her mission to care for and invest in children’s futures. She also works part-time in a residential home for adults with disabilities, where her compassion and patience make a meaningful difference every day.

Amanda’s life and work reflect her unwavering belief in the power of love, community, and service—qualities that make her a true advocate for families and a pillar in her community.

Charlye Hahn, Interim Executive Director

My name is Charlye Hahn. I am the middle child of seven. My husband and I have lived in Boise since 1997 when he retired from the Army after serving for 21 years. We have 5 children, 10 Grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. We started our kinship journey in 2001 when we took in our great niece and nephew (twins). I am the Interim Executive Director on the board of 4 The Love Of Kinship as I want to provide support to kinship families. I am a GrandVoice Kinship Advocate with Generations United. I am the Chair of the board for Idaho Community Health Workers Association, Vice President for the board of the Wilder VFW Auxiliary, Vice Chair for the board of Clowns Of Idaho. I volunteer my time to co-facilitate classes for Powerful Tools for Caregivers as a Master Trainer and help run one of the Memory Cafe’s offered by Aging Strong. I enjoy camping, hiking, reading, volunteering, and going to the casino.

Melissa Privett, Tresurer

My name is Melissa. I am the treasurer for the group.  My passion is to help all children to feel loved and valued. The adults who take care of the children need a safe place to find the help they need to care for the children in their homes. This is the reason I am a part of this group.

I work with children at my church as the children's director.  I am also Special Olympics coach as well as the management team member for the local team. (Four Rivers Outlaws) For my day job, I am a house manager at residential home for adults with disabilities.

My true passion is to love others as Christ has loved me. If I can help just one child or adult through this group...then that is what I am here for.

Stephen Rudy, Secretary

Stephen M. Rudy is a dedicated father of seven adopted children and a passionate advocate for children and families. His kinship journey began seven years ago when he welcomed his triplet great-nieces—whom he had never met—into his home so they could grow up in a loving family rather than enter the foster care system.

Stephen has extensive leadership experience serving children and communities. He is a Past President of the Idaho PTA and currently serves as President of Owyhee Elementary PTA, Director of Unit Engagement for the Idaho PTA, President of Hillside HOA, and an elected member of the National PTA Leadership Recruitment Committee.

Through both personal experience and community service, Stephen brings a strong commitment to supporting kinship families and ensuring that all children have safe, stable, and nurturing homes.
